Welcome to the Department of Law at International Standard University (ISU). Since our establishment in 2024, we have been dedicated to nurturing future legal professionals who can excel both nationally and globally. Our vision is to provide a dynamic and practice-oriented legal education, enriched with seminars, workshops, mooting competitions, study tours, and court visits. Guided by a team of experienced faculty with national and international expertise, students here benefit from a curriculum designed under the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) framework, ensuring they are fully prepared for the challenges of the 21st century. We also place strong emphasis on research, critical thinking, and the values of justice, equality, democracy, and good governance. Our well-resourced library, along with academic and co-curricular activities, helps students grow not only as legal professionals but also as responsible citizens and leaders. The journey began in 2024 with a clear vision: to build one of the leading law departments in the country by providing high quality, practice oriented, and research driven legal education. The Department of Law at International Standard University (ISU) is dedicated to advancing legal education through a blend of academic excellence, research, and professional training. Established with the vision of producing competent legal professionals, the department upholds the values of justice, ethics, and social responsibility. It offers the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. Hons.) program, designed in line with national standards and global best practices, ensuring that graduates are prepared to meet the challenges of contemporary legal professions both at home and abroad.
The department is building a reputation for fostering critical thinking, analytical skills, and advocacy training. Faculty members bring expertise across diverse areas of law including constitutional law, criminal law, international law, corporate law, human rights, and environmental law providing students with a comprehensive understanding of legal systems.
Research and scholarship are central to the department’s mission. Students actively engage in legal research, monographs, seminars, and moot courts, while faculty pursue scholarly projects addressing pressing legal and social issues. The department also emphasizes experiential learning through law clinics, internships, and mock trials, bridging theory and practice.
